Spoken classes, not exercises

Live classes with an AI teacher,
in any language and at any hour

Pick a language, a level and what you feel like talking about. Seconds later you are talking out loud with your teacher, right here in the browser — no camera, nothing to install, nobody to book with, and no embarrassment about getting it wrong.

Your first class of 30 minutes is free when you sign up. We ask for no card.

Not sure what level you are? There is a free 7-minute test that tells you.

How it works

Step 1

You say what you want to talk about

A topic from the list — travel, business, a job interview — or whatever you like, in your own words: "telling someone about my trip to Japan", "getting ready for Monday's meeting". You also choose whether to just talk or to push on grammar, vocabulary or oral exam practice.

Step 2

The teacher walks into the room

You press “Join the class”, the browser asks for your microphone, and that is it: your teacher is on the other side waiting. They take under a minute to arrive. You talk to them the way you would talk to anybody: they listen, they answer, and they correct you in passing without stopping the conversation to give you a grammar lesson. If you do not see yourself talking at that speed yet, the same class can be taken by turns — just below.

Step 3

You get the report

When it ends you get it in writing: what went well, what to fix and — this is the part that matters — what to say instead. With your four scores for the day and the full transcript, in case you want to go back over it.

Step 4

The next class remembers this one

The mistakes you make are tagged and go into the next class: the teacher watches for them without announcing it. When you have gone two classes without making one, we tell you. That is what makes this a teacher and not a chatbot.

Two ways to take the class

You choose when you book, class by class. The teacher is the same, the report is the same, and the mistakes you are working on carry over either way.

Live

A spoken conversation, at the speed of one. Your teacher asks, you answer out loud, and they correct you in passing without stopping the talk. It is what really trains your ear and your fluency, and it is the hardest thing there is: you have to produce the sentence while somebody waits.

Bought by the minute. You are only charged for the ones you use.

By turns

The same class, one exchange at a time. Your teacher asks and you answer when you are ready: in writing or out loud, whichever you prefer. Then they show you, in writing, what you said and the same thing said properly, with one line in your own language explaining what changed — and the conversation goes on.

It is for when you know the grammar and it will not come out of your mouth, or when you go blank because somebody is waiting. Nobody waits here: the correction stays on the screen and you can read it as many times as you like. It works just as well for preparing something specific — a job interview, question by question — without the rush of doing it live.

Bought by the exchange, 4 credits each, and you are only charged for the ones you use. The time you take to answer is free.

What you take away from every class

Not a score and a pat on the back. Specific corrections you can use tomorrow.

Corrections, with the alternative

You said The right version Why
I have went to Kyoto I went to Kyoto A specific moment in the past takes the simple past.
I am agree I agree “Agree” is already the verb.

And the line going up

Four measures per class — fluency, accuracy, vocabulary and interaction — scored against what is expected at your level, not in the abstract. After a few weeks the chart tells you whether you are improving, which is the question nobody can answer when they study alone.

Six classes from a B2 English student.

Languages and levels

From scratch up to C2: if you cannot even say hello yet, the starter course is a class in your own language where the teacher gives you your first words. The teacher adjusts how it speaks to whichever level you have active, and you can change it whenever you like.

Chinese English French German Italian Japanese Korean Portuguese Spanish
  • Starter

Starts from nothing: knows no more than a stray word of the language and cannot put a sentence together. The class is held in the student's own language — the teacher gives them their first words and phrases, how they sound and what order they go in, and has them say each one back.

  • A1

Can introduce themselves, say where they are from and describe their routine in very simple sentences, and answer direct questions if spoken to slowly.

  • A2

Can get by in predictable everyday situations — shopping, directions, ordering in a bar — and describe past events in short sentences.

  • B1

Can hold a conversation on familiar topics, tell a story in some detail, explain their plans and justify an opinion simply. Gets stuck once the subject leaves familiar ground.

  • B2

Can discuss abstract or current topics fluently, argue a position, and handle an unexpected complication without switching languages. Makes mistakes, but they do not get in the way of being understood.

  • C1

Speaks fluently and precisely, qualifies what they say, uses idiom naturally and adapts register to the situation. Errors are occasional.

  • C2

Commands the language with the precision of an educated native speaker: irony, register, nuance and complex structures with no apparent effort.

So which one are you?

Free

Take the level test: 7 minutes talking to a teacher who starts easy and pushes until you run out of answers. That is where your level is. At the end we tell you which one it is, why, and one click enrols you on the course you belong in.

Create an account and take the test It costs no credits, and you can take it again once a month. Once you have an account it is under "Courses".

For your children too, without an account for them

One account, one balance. You decide what each class is about; they just talk.

A course in their name

Open a course and say who it is for. The teacher uses their name from the first hello, and their history, their level and their chart stay separate from yours.

A link, and that is it

Prepare the class with your notes — “speak slowly”, “make him use the past tense” — and send a link. They open it, press start and talk. No sign-up, no password, and no need for your phone.

Good for one class: when it ends, the link stops working. The report comes to you.

Pricing

You buy classes, not a subscription. Every pack is whole classes of 45 minutes — the longest a class can run — and the bigger the pack, the cheaper the class.

The same credits cover both kinds of class: by the minute when it is live, or by the exchange when you take it by turns.

One-off

1 class
of 45 minutes
7 €

Or 3, if you make them 15 minutes.

Regular

Most popular
5 classes
of 45 minutes
30 € 6 € a class

Or 15, if you make them 15 minutes.

Intensive

12 classes
of 45 minutes
60 € 5 € a class

Or 36, if you make them 15 minutes.

Underneath, you pay by the minute spoken: 2 credits a minute, so a full class of 45 minutes is 90. A class sets its own aside when it starts and gives back whatever you do not spend, so if you have to leave after twelve minutes you pay for twelve. The written exercises between classes cost nothing.
